Good morning everyone,
I’m on my way to Japan today as a combined mother’s day and birthday trip for my mum. We initially only had about 3 days off together and had settled on a longer weekend to Spain but ended up with give or take 10 days off at the same time and then decided to go big and go for Tokyo instead. I’m not worried about if mum will like Japan because see does enjoy Asian cousin, architecture and culture a lot(She never stops talking bout her love for Seoul) so I think this trip will also be a hit.
Given this trip with its impending 10+hour flight I have prepared my in flight entertainment accordingly. nimble book is packed, netflix and youtube vids have been downloaded in case of a crappy movie selection. Apart from that I always like to have a couple of podcasts on hand when I want to rest my eyes. I have given some podcast tips before, BUT, I come with a fresh new one to you platter now.
A high school classmate of mine, Julia, has released a podcast version of her blog The Global Entity. I haven’t gotten too far into the episodes but had to control myself from binge-listening when I noticed I had two 10+hrs flights in the near future. Julia’s podcast centers around her finding her way back to South Africa, heartbreak, adulthood with all its hardships and magic. Listening to her podcast feels like tuning in with your free spirited friend over some fika. It’s strong and vulnerable at the same time.
