Hello everyone,
Yes I know I’m a bit late with todays post ass well but I promise I’ve been very busy today with important matters. Anyway considering our chillier weather and how our skin and its barrier takes a punch from the chilly winds it is even MORE important protect our skin. For me there are 4 steps you need to keep healthy skin all year around.
One if not the most important step. If you use make up you need to get that off before bed to let your skin breathe and if you go a natural then at least get the sweat and grime off from the day. One of my favorite one is the Kiehls Ultra Facial Cleanser. It cleanses the skin thoroughly without stripping it off too much moisture.
The second step one needs is almost the same but can vary slightly from morning to night. Re-introducing moisture after cleansing is extremely important to keep the balance of the skin. Here one can obviously adapt iit to one’s preferences. In the winter I feel like a thicker moisturizer is better to combat the cold icy winds. A good regular cream is best in the evenings. But it’s as important to introduce moisture in the morning too. In the mornings I would change the regular face cream for a sun screen. A lot of people especially people here on the northern hemisphere tend to ignore the need for sunscreen in the winter due to lack of sunlight. However friends, I’m sure most of you know the that we have to still have to protect our skin from the UV rays even in the winter.
Those are the critical steps in a good skincare routine, in MY opinion. If one wants to add little extra twist one can add any type of treatment that suits one’s personal skin types needs. I suffer from sensitive skin and ocasional pimple break outs, so for me a pimple treatment is my most useful extra flare. But for others it can be anything from extra moisture from a face mask or some type of anti-aging with retinol or so.
