A simple task but I do think the first thing you need to achieve in order to get your body moving is to find an exercise that you enjoy, whether it’s how it makes you feel, look, something you at least enjoy more and makes the time to and from the gym worth it. I don’t particularly LOVE doing yoga BUT the way my back feels so much better after going even just couple of timess is the best.
One of the things that gets me out the door and in to the classes and gyms most is not the effect it has on my body or skin, to be honest I don’t think I’ve ever worked out enough to see a real difference, but the feeling of my body, dude there we have something. Nothing makes my late 20s body as motivated to work out as a my back pain disappearing into thin air the soles of my feet feeling less pressure. There we have motivation y’all.
In order not to let monotony stop your health gain and the feeling of pride of being consistent with something find DIFFERENT things with different levels of difficulty and energy depletion to do. I have the yoga that I can handle even on the days I feel a bit tired and lacking of energy, dance fusion where I need energy and a good nights sleep to keep up but it feels more like a fun party than mentally work out and core flex or barbell classs when I actually want to feel like a to be gym rat. Having different types of difficulty levels of exercises I can commit to makes getting out to exercise easier. Find some variation in your work outs!
Don’t try to forcing a routine down your throat, especially not if one small hiccup makes you feel like a failure. I’ve noticed that if I put the pressure on me to go a set amount of days, be it a week or month it will put me off the track if I miss the mark even if just once. This month the goal is simply to work out more than the year(s) before. I just want to over take my personal best but when is not as important.
