Good morning everyone,
My boyfriend and I wanted to escape the dark and gloomy Swedish winter weather now that we’ve entered the DARKEST period of the year. We have to be a little bit restrictive with our spending, however, because his family is coming over at the beginning of next year to see us and travel a bit in Europe, and we want to save up a bit for that. My boyfriend is really into photography, though, and while doing some research about cool places to visit in Sweden, came across the Butterfly house (Fjärilshuset) in Solna. It’s a small greenhouse and aquarium in Solna that houses a couple of different species of butterflies, amphibians, and sharks!

Being a greenhouse with a tropical feel, it’s a perfect day escapade if you need to see some greenery and feel some warmth (although artificial). We spent a good 3-4 hours wandering around, mesmerized by the beauty of the butterflies. We actually decided to get their yearly pass for 750 SEK because we reckoned we’d be back at least enough times to make our money’s worth. I think one single entry ticket was around 250, so with three visits, it will already be worth it.

Have you been to Fjärilshuset, or do you have any other fun date/winter escapade ideas around Uppsala and Stockholm? Let’s share them below in the comments ❤️
